Voter Registration

posted on 2/22/24

The first step in the voting process it to get REGISTERED!  It is super easy and quick to check your voter registration status and to get registered if you are not.  You can logon on to sos.iowa.gov and click on “Am I registered to vote?”.  Enter your first name, last name and your zip code and click search! It is that easy.

If the system shows that you are NOT registered, click on “register to vote”.  Enter your first name, last names, date of birth, last 5 digits of your Social Security Number and finally your Iowa driver’s license (DL) or identification card (ID) number.  Next you will enter the first five numbers of the number listed at the bottom of your driver’s license (see example below).

To move forward click next and continue to enter the information, some are optional fields.  The final screen will ask you to review and agree to the information that was entered.  THAT’S IT!  You are registered!  The Marion County Auditor will send you a voter card in the mail within two weeks.  The voter card will tell you your voting location.

There is also an option to download and print a paper Voter Registration form.  After you complete the form, you can drop it off at our office or mail it to: Marion County Auditor, 214 E Main St, Knoxville IA 50138.

You can also stop by our office to fill out a voter registration form, or call and request that we mail you the form.  And of course, if you have any questions you may email us at [email protected] or pick up the phone 641-828-2217.

Remember the voter pre-registration deadline is 15 days before the election.  Iowa does allow same day voter registration but since it is so easy to get registered….LETS GET VOTER READY!
